Speculative Design of Sexual Healthcare

A project led by Georgina, exploring what speculative design approaches around emergent technologies can bring to the design of sexual healthcare service provision.

Sexual healthcare delivery is often required to be highly localised; targeted to extremely specific user-groups; and delivered through digital and material platforms, requiring providers to keep abreast of emerging technologies. This project explores how these factors can be incorporated into a long-term perspective for planning for sexual healthcare, drawing on speculative techniques and the principles around digital fabrication including hyper-localisation, mass customisation, and breaching digital and physical spaces.

The project is currently in progress as part of Georgina’s residency at Lighthouse Arts, and supported by NESTA.
